dreaming
While reading the chapter about dreaming I was intrigued. It seemed as id we had little to no control over what we dream. So I searched the web to find out. As it turn out, we usually have no control over our dreams or if we remember them but that can be changed. The idea of a lucid dream is a dream that we know is a dream and therefore can control it. By taking a few steps we can control our bodies to enter a lucid dream. Once you have trained yourself to do that you can take it a step further. You can actually train your body to fall asleep while keeping your mind awake. Because you are sleeping, you will experience sleep paralysis, but thats normal for any person in a stage of sleep where they are dreaming. While in this awake/sleep state you can experience hallucinations which may make you feel any emotion. With the advancements of science we can now use this knowledge for sleep therapy. Because of science we can also ask if thinking about doing something is the same as actually doing it because after all when looking at the neuronal activity of the brain they are the same.
