While studying for the cumulative exam I realized the applicability of the information we are learning in this class to our lives, and the way Ms. Perl applies it to her teaching method. The main example I could think of was methods for learning. As we discussed in class quite a while ago one of the best ways to learn new material is by repeating it, especially over an extended period of time. The work we are required to do for class show that this is taken into account. We are required to go over most of the information 9 times: the assignment, in class, studying for the test, correcting the test, studying for the mid term, correcting the midterm, studying for the cumulative exam, correcting the cumulative exam, and finally studying for the AP.
Learning is not the only way we could apply this information to our lives. When discussing developmental psychology we discussed the multiple types of parenting and the affects it could have in children. As well as the way different personalities could affect our health. Applying what we learn in this class could allow us to lead more successful lives.
